Michael Otto is a passionate coin dealer. He has been collecting coins since he was 10 years old. Shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall, even before reunification, his father Manfred Otto became the first private coin dealer in East Berlin. In April 1992, the shop in Pankow opened, where Michael Otto completed his training as a retail salesman.

In 2003, Michael Otto took over his father's shop. From 2007 to 2015, he worked as a representative for the German auction house Künker in Berlin. After several more years of self-employment, Michael Otto took over as head of numismatics at SINCONA on January 1, 2025.

Michael Otto is a numismatic all-rounder who is an expert in all areas of collecting in Germany. He also specialised in coins from China and East Asia as well as paper money at an early stage.
